An education is life-changing for Chicago teens impacted by trauma, neglect, and abuse. But not every teen gets a safe place to study, time to focus on school work, or a support system that helps them graduate.

Mercy Home gave Jordan a fresh start and hope for the future.

He didn’t care about school before he arrived. His home life was chaotic and neither of his parents made sure he did his homework or studied. Instead, he spent his time partying with friends, trying drugs and alcohol, and getting in trouble because of shoplifting. But things changed when he arrived — he started to care about school, set goals, and made plans for college.

Mercy Home gave him the chance to get on the right path, and provided him the hope, stability, care and support he needed to focus on education.
